Sunday Mornings
Sunday mornings are filled with lots of exciting opportunites for you to get involved in, doing things you love to do while serving others and helping our city transform the way it sees God. We have a number of key areas that you can get involved in –from First Impressions to the Arts and Technology teams and our Kids Ministries.
GUEST SERVICES
Our Gust Services team has a very important role on Sunday morning. They are the information providers to our guests who want to know anything about our church, how to get somewhere, where the kids should go, how to sign kids into the right class and general information on big things happening in the church.
Commitment Level: 2 Times Per Month
Time: 10:15am – 12:30pm
AL’S CAFE
Al’s Cafe is always teeming with activity and great conversation each week; it’s one of the things that our people love about this Church. The responsibilities for Al’s cafe are brewing the coffee and setting up all the trimmings, keeping the cafe stocked with all of the needed cups, sugar, cream and other things needed. Further responsibilities include taking care of cleaning up the pots and loading dirty dishes and making sure that there is an appropriate snack available.
Commitment Level: 1 Time Per Month
Time: 10:15am – 12:30pm
USHERS
Our ushers are very important to what happens each Sunday morning at Mountain Park. The role of the usher has several important facets like making sure everyone receives the programs for the morning service, spotting guests and encouraging them to fill out the iConnect cards and helping them find seating or the appropriate place for their kids for the morning. The ushers are also responsible for collecting the offering in the morning and passing out bibles and other information. During the service the ushers sit at the back and assist people who may need to leave briefly during the service.
Commitment Level: 2 Times Per Month
Time: 10:15am – 12:30pm
GREETERS
Our greeters are the face of our Church and the first contact we have with people every Sunday. Their responsibility is to warmly welcome everyone who walks through the doors in an appropriate way and give direction and assistance if needed. If you are a morning person and you love people, this is a great opportunity for you.
Commitment Level: 1 Time Per Month
Time: 10:15am – 11:15am
ATRIUM HOST
This team is responsible for making sure that no one feels left out or alone and that everyone feels welcome and at home at Mountain Park. The atrium hosts simply mingle in the atrium, watch out for new guests and provide a smile and any information that the guest might need to make them feel comfortable and at home. The atrium host may also need to give guided tours, show parents where the kids ministries take place and direct people into the worship centre.
Commitment Level: 2 Times Per Month
Time: 10:15am – 11:15am
FACILITIES TEAM
The facilities team have a very important role on Sunday morning. A huge part of creating a WOW first impression is making sure that our facilities are well kept for and look clean and inviting to our guests. The facilities team takes care of making sure that the bathrooms are stocked and clean as well as the nursery and worship centre. There are two shifts that the facilities team needs to take care of. One is before anyone gets here –to take a walk through the building and make sure everything is up to the WOW criteria. The second shift is during the service to take another walk through and make sure the bathrooms and facility are sparkling for when people leave the service.
Commitment Level: 1 Time Per Month
Time: 10:00am – 10:15am / 11:30am – 12:00pm
PRAYER AND INTERCESSION
Prayer is the foundation of everything that happens at Mountain Park; and the best part is that you don’t have to be an expert at it to be a part of this great team. Our vision is to cover all of our services in continual prayer before, during and after and have prayer leaders available to talk and pray with people. If you have a heart for prayer then we need you to be a part of this great ministry that often goes without recognition but has huge rewards.
Commitment Level: 2 Times Per Month
Time: 9:45am – 12:30pm Sunday Morning
TECH TEAMS
Our tech teams are filled with opportunities to immerse yourself in the leading edge of what takes place on Sunday mornings. We provide specific training and equipping to allow you to be the absolute best that you can at whatever area you choose. We have opportunities in lighting, audio and video and presentation. If you love working with different technology and your not afraid of computers and complex machines then this is right where you want to be.
Commitment Level: 1 Time Per Month
Time: 1 Mid-week evening for 2hrs & Sunday morning from 9:00am – 12:30pm
MUSIC TEAMS
Our weekends place a high priority on music of all different kinds. We believe that God wants us to leverage the old and the new, the fast and the slow, corporate worship and inspiring performance. If you have a gift of music and you are committed to Mountain Park for the long term this is the place for you to use your gifts. Our standards and requirements for these teams are very high but the rewards are out of this world. All of our musicians must first know that this is their home and would to come to Church here even if they were not involved. They must be Team Members who understand our vision and where we are going and they must be skilled musicians who are willing to practice and always improve their skills.
Commitment Level: Personal practice time during the week & once a month Thursday night and Sunday morning
Time: 1 Mid-week 3hr rehearsal & 9:00am – 12:30pm once a month
DRAMA TEAM
We have not had a steady drama ministry for sometime, but we would love to re-introduce that to our Church on different occasions. If you love acting and you have a heart for God let us know and we’ll begin to put the pieces in place to use drama again in the regular life of our Church.
CONSTRUCTION
We are always looking for men and women who are creative and gifted in working with wood and other products on projects for our Sunday morning services. If you love working with your hands and applying your creativity we would love to have you on board for this great team.
